Award-winning Australian Stylist David Glover Takes Over Metro


This Sunday, Aug. 22, Metro welcomes award-winning Australian stylist David Glover to our facility for a meet-and-greet and educational event for students and staff from 3-5 p.m. Come and see how the Kevin Murphy line gives movement and control in hair without weight. Learn how to create Updos in 10 minutes without compromising her femininity, or her time. Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, David Glover began hairdressing in ’84, completing an apprenticeship in ’88. After working in and managing several salons, in 1990 he left salon work to pursue a career as a freelance hairstylist. David left Australia to furthur his experience, and moved to Europe in 1991. When he returned to Sydney he met Kevin Murphy and felt Kevin’s products and philosophy were uniquely groundbreaking. He admires Kevin as a hairstylist and pioneer of new and modern direction. David now has more than 25 years experience in hairstyling for photo sessions, fashion shows, music videos and TV commercials, and has worked for magazines such as Vogue, Marie Claire, Grazia, Elle, and Harpers Bazaar. He has worked for Mercury Records in London producing looks for recording artists, and has worked on some of the most famous catwalk shows in London, Paris and Milan, including Versace, Armani, Alexander McQueen and Jean-Paul Gaultier. David has styled top models and celebrities such as Linda Evangelista, Elle McPherson, Jodie Kidd, Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks and Dannii Minogue. He is the awarded Australian “Session Hairstylist of the Year.” David has worked for many years on developing and updating his techniques in hairstyling.
