Metro Beauty Academy’s Manicuring and Nail Technician program combines an experienced faculty, comprehensive curriculum, strong clinic program, preparation for the national exam and state licensure and career placement assistance to enable our graduates to start their own businesses, or succeed in any facet of the career they wish to pursue.

Certifications

Our 300-hour program includes the 200 hours required by the state of Pennsylvania. The additional 100 hours provides our students with the additional nail art techniques and experience necessary to give them a competitive edge in the job market. This program is designed to build a solid foundation in the professional practice of Nail technology. Metro Beauty Academy will educate you in both theory and practical skills to prepare you to become a licensed nail technician. In this program, students will learn: product knowledge, spa manicure and pedicures, conditioning nail treatment, therapeutic hand massage, sculpted nails, artificial nail application, gel nail application, gel polish, nail wraps, and client consultations. You will also learn the latest trends such as nail art and business practices to salon management.

High Demand

Employment of massage therapists is projected to grow 23 percent from 2012 to 2022, much faster than the average for all occupations. Continued growth in the demand for massage services will lead to new openings for massage therapists.

Overview

Metro Beauty Academy utilizes the Pivotpoint standard curriculum accepted widely in the cosmetology community. In addition to learning tips and tricks of the nail industry , students will be prepared to take their certification test and apply for a license at the end of the program.

Curriculum

Theory: 100 hours

Learn the theory and practical experiences of basic and advanced Manicures/Pedicures in the industry.

Practical and clinic: Students will apply skills they learned in theory to practice and master technique.

Manicuring and Pedicuring: 75 Hours

Learn safety, sanitation, basic and advanced manicure, and pedicure setup and procedures.

Artificial Nail application: 85 Hours

Learn acrylic applications, sculpture nails, and gel applications. As well as learning, powder dip application which is new to the industry!!!

Nail Artistry 20 Hours

Learn the newest trends in nail art using many different creative designs, products, and materials.

Professional practices: 20 Hours

Learn the importance of professional image and ethics. Review PA state laws and salon fundamentals.
