Spring 2012 Trends We Love

As we prepare this Spring 2012 Trend Report, the sun is shining and the temperatures are in the 60s; it seems we may have escaped winter after all. To get you in the mood for all of the lovely aspects of the season, we’ve prepared a glimpse into fashion and beauty’s must-try trends. Floral: It seems floral continues to make an appearance each spring and summer season and for good reason. This year, floral gets an update with bright, punchy island-inspired colors. When April showers come a-knockin’, show them who’s boss with a flowy floral dress, knee-high socks and rain boots. Animal and Geo Prints: While dressing in head-to-toe animal print may only work for Simba, we suggest a great animal print accessory — like leopard print flats — that adds a pop of wild to any outfit. Tribal prints, eye-catching geometric prints and color blocking are a hot way to add an architectural touch to your look. Retro-inspired: Paying homage to The Great Gatsby, you’ll find gorgeous flapper-esque duds that give a nod to the glorious 1920s Jazz Age era. Look for embellishments like feathers, sequins and rich silks in retro cuts. Sorbet Pastels: Light, airy and feminine are the best terms to describe this pretty-in-pink trend — except you don’t have to choose just a pastel pink. This spring, shades of creamsicle, lilac, mint, banana and powder blue are just a few fresh colors to inject into your wardrobe. Bangs: Bangs are here to stay and there’s nothing school-girl about them. Strong Brow: While we encourage regular brow maintenance (only Bert can pull off the uni-brow — and he’s a puppet), a strong, thicker brow makes a sexy statement. Complement your brows with a subtle nude lip. The Pony Tail: From loose pony tails to the tucked under option, pony tails were all over the runways. Turn your typical gym hairdo into a sleek work day hairdo and skip a day of washing. Electric Lips: Bold, juicy colors of red, orange, coral and more will surely make a lip-smacking statement.
