Matrix Mannequin Mania

You may recognize her name from Bravo’s hit TV series Salon Takeover, but that’s not why Tabatha Coffey was in town. Metro Beauty Academy students recently visited Patrick Mcivor Color Studio in Bethlehem to celebrate Nathan Rosenkranz’s winning look from the Matrix Mannequin Mania contest. Tabatha made a special guest appearance as she was one of the judges who helped select Nathan’s mannequin for a $25,000 grand prize. Not too shabby, Nathan! If you remember, Nathan visited Metro Beauty Academy last fall for a presentation and workshop. During this time, he was a semi-finalist, and we were all anxiously awaiting the big winner as we voted our little hearts out. Crossing our fingers, we hoped it was going to be Nathan. He competed nationwide among many other talented stylists. The grand prize was $25,000 and a day with Tabatha. When the news hit that he had won, Nathan couldn’t have been more grateful for all of the votes and the support. Thus, he decided to encourage Metro to hold a similar competition among our students and he and Patrick would judge. The winners, in return, would attend the event for their very own change to meet Tabatha, too. Rebecca Hernandez and Melissa Myers were deemed winners alongside two students from Empire Beauty School in Whitehall. Congratulations to of all the winners! The event was a blast, and we’re so proud of Nathan for showing the nation his creativity and inspiring talents.
